DecSecOps Engineer

 📍 Remote / Manchester, UK

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic DevSecOps (Developer/Security/Operations) engineer to join our team. You will be part of a growing technology team who have a broad remit across cloud security and scalability, environment build out, automation and CI process and tooling. Primary responsibilities:

  • Ensure that our systems are scalable, performant, safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Enable the development and QA function to efficiently build and deliver software
  • Work and improve on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Working with software developers and testers to ensure that development follows established processes and performs as intended
  • Supporting our product, projects and support teams with customer issues and incident triage
  • Continuous Research and Development of new technologies enabling Membr to continue innovation Requirements centred around future technology

 

Experience:

  • AWS and Cloud Infrastructure
  • AWS administration & installation
  • Elastic, Kibana, Docker, Lambda
  • Collaboration tools (Git, Confluence, JIRA)
  • Software engineering (Python/Terraform)
  • Test automation
  • Relational and non-relational data technologies


Skills:

  • Working within an agile context with the use of CI/CD
  • Articulate a logical design, and understand how this translates to physical infrastructure
  • Experience with defining and working with the constraint of cost, scalability, availability and security
  • Good understanding of security concepts (OWASP)
  • Excellent experience of Microservices, Containers and Event Driven Architectures
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Good experience working with internal stakeholders and external customers

Senior and Mid-Level Engineers

You must have proven experience working with:

  • Cloud platforms and serverless architectures – AWS preferred (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDb, IAM, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, S3, cdk…)

  • Typescript, Javascript
  • Single Page Applications – VueJS (preferred), Angular or React

Junior Customer Success Advisor (Benelux)

The role:

This role is directly aligned with Membr’s driving ethos: fanatically helping the fitness industry smash their goals. Positioned within a team of Customer Success Advisors, you will be working as part of a passionate team providing an exceptional customer experience that adds value and drives customer success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Service: You will primarily be handling support queries, ensuring SLAs are met, and delivering an exceptional customer experience driving the gyms towards success.
  • Onboarding: Assist Customer Success Advisors to provide a consistent and frictionless onboarding experience, ensuring that we deliver immediate value and proactively manage the customer experience and ensuring gyms are set up to succeed.
  • Training: Contribute to evolving the customer resource centre and assist other Customer Success Advisors with organising training requirements.
  • Product: Maintain a sound knowledge of the product through checking new releases, as well as following the appropriate process of escalating client needs and requests within your team.

You:

  • Fluent/Native Dutch language skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Confident, motivated and driven
  • Self-confident and proactive in communicating with people at all levels

  • Previous experience of supporting customers would be advantageous, as would experience of having worked
    within the fitness industry
  • Ability to speak German would be advantageous
  • Based in the UK and able to travel to Manchester, as the onboarding process will require you to be in the office
    periodically during your induction period

Technical Architect

The role:

The Technical Architect at Membr is responsible for the overall architecture of all technology solutions and owns and manages Membr’s technology governance processes. Membr is a cloud provider and its products are primarily SaaS, hence experience in this field is essential.

The role initiates and delivers technology evaluations and recommendations and is responsible for driving the simplification and standardisation of the overall architecture. The role is responsible for ensuring best practices for system design are applied and provides technology leadership and support for the creation of scalable, secure, flexibly deployed and extensible solutions.

The role provides technical expertise, consultation and support to development and project teams, customers and other architects. The role also plays a key role in the security function and experience of cyber security principles and processes is essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive improvement and simplification of the underlying architectures and capabilities Membr particularly in the use of microservices event driven architecture.
  • Design the strategic specifications, models and guidelines within a coherent architectural blueprint to meet requirements reflecting Membr design principles.
  • Drive innovation within the solution set by applying new technology and facilitating the development of software interactions, connections and transactions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the market requirements, ensure successful application of architectural design, support development and delivery of products, and implement systematic leveraging and reuse of enterprise components.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with regulations, standards and requirements.
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand the vision state and the approach to achieving the technology roadmap.
  • Oversee the management and be accountable for the information security function.
  • Own the technical department’s governance processes and principles, reviewing, documenting and reaching agreement with the wider team.
  • Mentor and train the team to help shape strategies, solve problems, and create solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and communicate clearly and concisely, especially when dealing with technical topics.
  • Define a vision for Membr’s long term technology architecture and ensure it is regularly reviewed and refined.
  • Lead and support the creation of scalable, secure, flexibly deployed and extensible solutions.
  • Ensure Membr has safe and secure services supporting the security function by providing ongoing consultation and support to technology, business and project teams.


What are we looking for?

  • Experience in developing and leading Enterprise Architecture teams with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to support the business in defining their vision, especially where it impacts technology
  • Ability to use architecture models and frameworks to support business and technology design decisions
  • Knowledge of enterprise and application design patterns
  • Enterprise architect certifications (e.g. Togaf)
  • Experience with IaaS, PaaS and Cloud Services such as AWS, Azure
  • Understanding of architecture governance, design authority processes and overall solution design management processes
  • Understanding of security management, governance and risk
  • Strong collaboration and coaching skills
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment
  • Has a track record of delivering complex programmes of work, drive change and influence at senior level and put technology at the heart of an organisation
  • Broad technical knowledge, and ability to quickly assimilate new skills
  • A continual learner that stays updated on the latest technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to translate technical jargon into easy to understand and clear terms
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent self motivation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries and encourage participation and knowledge sharing with other stakeholders
